**Hotel Operations Controller-Anchorage, AK**
We're looking for an innovative and skilled Controller to join our team in Anchorage, AK. Your responsibilities will include coordination and collaboration with our Hotels and Lodges within Alaska and the Yukon to ensure the best practices, accounting procedures, and policies are followed. You will assist the Hotel Operations Directors and Hotel General Managers with quarterly operational forecasting and helping to develop region-wide resources and tools that will create efficiencies within the Administrative departments throughout the region. You will also help lead the Administrative Manager meetings, sharing those tools and resources and ensuring Finance and RAAS policies are understood and followed. You will strictly adhere to cash handling and internal procedures, working with each Lodge General Manager and Administrative Manager to ensure these policies are always followed. You will flag areas of concern for the Director and General Managers based on monthly P&Ls, forecasts, and your knowledge of financial procedures and policies. You will also be instrumental in maintaining hotel financial operations documentation for training purposes.
**_Responsibilities:_**
+ Work with Hotel General Managers, Administrative Managers, and the Hotel Director, and liaising with HAP Corporate Finance to create, gather, collate, and maintain best practices on payroll, sales/cash reconciliation and month end reporting.
+ Prepare monthly P/L variance reports and analysis for management with regards to the financial performance of the region.
+ Assists with quarterly financial forecasts, creating variance justification reports, assisting with EPM, and collating applicable reports for analysis.
+ Assists with end of month processes with operations teams for month and year end closing.
+ Tracks and inventories company resources such as credit card terminals, POS, and PMS licensing.
+ Partner with operational leadership to identify and develop tools and resources that assist the Administrative teams.
+ Conduct audits to ensure accounting process and procedure compliance are being used.
+ Assist with training and onboarding of the seasonal accounting staff for some of our hotel locations.
**_Requirements:_**
+ This job requires a professional level of knowledge in financial accounting equivalent to that which would be acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree (accounting preferred). Demonstration of directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.
+ Hospitality management is highly preferred.
+ Minimum of 3 years' experience in accounting.
+ Must pass a pre-employment background check.
+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-1B status).
**_Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:_**
+ Strong analytical abilities to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
+ Skilled at facilitating trainings for Managers and seasonal employees.
+ Proficiency in the use of computer business applications, including computerized accounting and payroll systems, Excel, Word, and Teams.
+ Ability to clearly communicate, verbally and in writing, with all levels of employees and management.
+ Ability to organize and prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
+ Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
