Summary of Position: Penta is seeking a full-time, paid intern to support the custom research team. They will benefit from immediate opportunities for professional development while working in a fun, fast-paced, and challenging environment. Interns support analysts, directors, and managing directors on client teams. A successful candidate has strong writing, analytical, and time-management skills, and a curious, proactive, high-achieving attitude. This role is a great opportunity for recent graduates who are interested in learning about a career in qualitative and quantitative research and polling. Duties & Responsibilities: + Assisting in overseeing projects + Setting up client reports (creating slides, tables, graphs, etc.) + Proofing and entering data into reports + Proofing client report + Checking programmed surveys + Checking data (tabs/crosstabs) for accuracy + Work with vendor portals to set up banner points and download data + Downloading transcripts (using a transcript app), editing transcripts, and pulling quotes for reports + Assisting in day-to-day administrative tasks as needed Qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Business, Political Science/Government, Public Policy, Economics, or related field + Previous internship experience at an agency, publicly traded company, media outlet, or in politics or government + Experience conducting research and performing financial or economic analysis, writing and distilling complex ideas and concepts into a digestible format + Familiarity with business, economics, politics, and the legislative process; expertise and interest in a specific policy field is a plus + Excellent verbal and written communication skills + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint + Strong attention to detail + Ability to take initiative + Strong organizational skills + Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team + Problem-solving skills + Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple, competing tasks + Ability to commit to internship for 40 hours a week for 6 months Benefits: + Dynamic and supportive environment for learning and growth + Frequent firm-wide social events and activities (Washington, D.C.) + Knowledge Meeting lunches with all staff on a variety of topics (Washington, D.C.) + Mentoring opportunities and support in the development of long-term career goals + Opportunities for flexible work arrangements Location: This internship we'd prefer to have be based in DC, however, we are open to applicants who would be fully remote as well.
