As a Customs Brokerage Manager for TQL Global, you will be leading our team of customs brokers and entry writers to ensure the timely and accurate clearance of goods through customs. This includes managing daily operations, compliance, problem solving, and serving as senior customs point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. As a team leader you will be responsible for the overall management, growth and development, continuous improvement and delivering outcomes that drive a high-quality customer experience.

What you'll be doing: Oversee the daily operations of the customs brokerage department, and support staff Develop, implement and drive continuous improvement to deliver high-quality customer experience Ensure that KPIs are being met or exceeded Ensure compliance with all relevant customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements Develop and implement efficient customs clearance processes to ensure shipments are managed against appropriate timelines and expectations Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing expert advice on customs compliance, classification, valuation, and documentation requirements Monitor changes in customs regulations and industry trends and update internal policies and procedures accordingly Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to compliance standards Collaborate with internal departments, such as logistics, finance, and legal, to streamline cross-border trade processes and resolve issues effectively Build and maintain strong relationships with customs authorities, freight forwarders, carriers, and other relevant stakeholders Provide training and guidance to team members to enhance their knowledge and skills in customs brokerage operations
What you need: Minimum of 10 years of experience in customs brokerage, with at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role Customs Broker license preferred but not required In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, import/export laws, and trade compliance requirements Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team building, mentorship, and performance management Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal stakeholders Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure Proficiency in customs brokerage software and Microsoft Office applications Bachelor's degree in international trade, logistics, business administration, or equivalent experience preferred
