Minimum Requirements: A degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery or dental medicine from an approved school.Completion or current enrollment in a residency program in general practice or specialty.Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.Preferred Experience: VA Clinical Experience and/or VA-based Clinical Training.
Physical Requirements: Moderate lifting (15-44 pounds), light carrying (under 15 pounds), use of fingers, walking (2 hours), standing (2 hours), work closely with others, and work alone.
Responsibilities: Provide direct patient care, manage indirect patient care, supervise dental auxiliary and dental hygienists.Conduct consultations, examinations, and treatment within the full scope of general dental procedures.Perform oral and radiographic examinations, diagnose pathological conditions, and administer local anesthesia.Perform routine and complex restorations, extractions, alveoloplasty, and prosthetic dentistry.Keep records relating to the oral health of patients and manage communication with staff to provide care.Manage externally-provided dental care through referral and treatment determination.Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm; other tours may be required based on Veteran needs.
