As a successful candidate for the DevOps Engineer position, you believe that a software development project isn't complete until it's successfully delivered to a user and meets their expectations around availability, performance and security. Configuring a software system, setting up the environments the system will be run in, and implementing the processes for deploying the software system are required steps to that successful delivery. You have a strong focus on business outcomes, are comfortable with collaborating with team members through all stages of a project, and can reach across functional borders to get the job done.
As a Dev Ops Engineer at Portland Webworks, you can expect to: work with cutting edge technologieswork on a variety of projects ranging in both size and scopedeliver high quality solutions across multiple industrieswork in a dynamic, collaborative environmentsupport our Drupal and Java software development teamsautomate build and deployment processconfigure high availability hosting configurations in Amazon Web Servicesmaintain internal software, hardware and networking systemswork on security compliance effortsprovide some off-hours supportAs a DevOps Engineer, you will bring: Strong Linux administration skillsA solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS and HTTP(s)A thorough understanding of security best practicesExperience with high availability hosting configurationsExperience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL and OracleA thorough understanding of Git and other version control systemsA positive attitude and strong work ethicAn ability to quickly ramp on new technologies and programming languagesSkills that would make you really stand out are: Experience with Jenkins, CircleCI or other build automation and continuous integration systemsExperience with high availability hosting configurations using AWS, Google Cloud or AzureExperience with Active Directory, LDAP and SSO solutionsExperience with DockerSecurity training or certifications (CCSP, SSCP, etc.)Experience maintaining Tomcat, Jetty, Glassfish, or other Java Application ServersExperience with automation and configuration management toolsWe are a professional consulting company, building custom solutions for a diverse client base.
