Reporting to the Associate Director, Web Content, the Digital Content Specialist, Multilingual is responsible for supporting Dana-Farber's multilanguage digital user experience strategy.
This role supports key content marketing initiatives that expand Dana-Farber's visibility and reputation, help people with cancer access its clinical care, and build public support for its deep program of scientific discovery.
In particular, this role focuses on increasing Dana-Farber's accessibility in these areas among populations where English is not the first language, including both domestic and international audiences.
This role is responsible for writing, translating, and optimizing engaging content for Dana-Farber's digital channels in multiple languages, including creating webpages, blog posts, emails, videos, and digital publications.
This role will also coordinate with freelancers and/or vendors responsible for translating content.
This position's work location is fully remote with occasional time on-campus in Boston, MA.
The selected candidate may only work remotely from a New England state (ME, VT, NH, MA, CT, RI).
Support multilingual digital channel growth by establishing an editorial calendar for websites, social media platforms, email marketing, and blog for both internal and external Dana-Farber audiences.
Create high-quality, original content in multiple languages, ensuring accuracy, consistency, literacy level, and cultural sensitivity.
Coordinate with a team of freelance writers and translators, providing clear instructions, conducting quality checks, and ensuring deadlines are met.
Develop and manage content governance process to ensure multi-language content is regularly updated and in sync with English content.
Conduct keyword research and SEO optimization to improve organic search ranking and visibility among non-English speaking populations.
Analyze content performance metrics and make data-driven decisions to optimize content strategy and effectiveness.
Collaborate with other teams and departments, including interpreter services, internal communications, marketing, client communications, to ensure content aligns with overall business goals.
Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices for multilingual content creation and digital marketing.
Stay informed about cultural nuances and adapt content accordingly to resonate with different audiences.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent specializing in communication studies, marketing, foreign language studies, linguistics, cultural communication, or related field.
At least 3 years of demonstrated experience as a digital content producer, writer, or editor in multiple languages.
Fluency in English and at least one other language (Spanish preferred).
Experience coordinating with freelancers or translators.
Experience developing content for international audiences preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Excellent writing and editing skills, with a strong understanding of grammar, style, and tone across languages.
Experience writing and translating for web, social media, video, and email marketing channels.
Knowledge of SEO best practices and content optimization techniques.
Experience with content management systems (CMS), preferably Drupal and/or WordPress.
Strong understanding of writing and digital content production workflows.
A passion for inclusive user experience design, languages, and cultural diversity.
Familiar with web accessibility standards and practices, including WCAG compliance.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
Collaborative and team-oriented with a positive attitude.
