Job Purpose (Job Summary): The Director position can be based in any one of the four INVESCO Real Estate offices (San Francisco, Newport Beach, Dallas or New York) and will be responsible for investment management of a specialty sector portfolio of Single Family Rentals (SFR / BTR / Scattered Site / Aggregated Sites) and Manufactured Housing. Investments are located throughout a broad range of markets around the country, and are owned both directly and through JV partnerships. As a member of the residential investment management team, the Director is tasked with driving outperformance for this portfolio, identifying and capitalizing on opportunities to create value, forging strong relationships with joint venture partners, and developing and sharing best practices.
Key Responsibilities / Duties: Drive value creation, investment strategy, and outperformance through direct oversight of portfolio operations, leasing and capital deployment.Measure and monitor portfolio performance against a variety of benchmarks including client objectives, pro-forma metrics, budget and public/private market comparables.Develop and effectuate annual business plans through actively working with property management, accounting, legal, valuation/appraisal, tax, research personnel as well as third-party consultants.Build and maintain national market knowledge within target markets (both operational and capital markets), and help define buy-box parameters, sector specific KPIs, and development of sector specific reporting tools.Maintain open and effective lines of communication with Portfolio Management regarding management of their investments including the physical, financial, and leasing performance.Work collaboratively with internal Acquisitions counterpart, JV partners and service providers to best serve INVESCO's interests.Establish credibility both internally and externally as Invesco's Single Family Rental and Manufactured Housing sectors expert.Actively engage in the appraisal and internal valuation process to ensure accurate representation of investment values.Review and approve required client reports in final form.Serve as an active contributing member of the residential team as well as the broader investment management team, sharing best practices and shaping platform initiatives.Work Experience / Knowledge: Minimum of 7 years of hands-on institutional real estate experience preferred in one or more of the following disciplines: Asset Management, Acquisitions, Underwriting, or Property Management.Extensive experience and strong passion for working with residential investments, including prior specialty sector focus on Single Family Rentals and/or Manufactured Housing.Broad understanding of the operational and investment fundamentals of institutional real estate.Skills / Other Personal Attributes Required: Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.Effective organizational and time management skills.Strong quantitative analysis skills.High proficiency with Excel & Power BI.Solutions and results orientedCreative and innovativeIntellectually curiousFormal Education: Undergraduate degree is required; advanced degree a plus.Working Conditions: Normal office environment with little exposure to noise, dust, and temperatures.The ability to lift, carry or otherwise move objects of up to 10 pounds is also necessary.Occasional travel may be required.Worker Type: EmployeeJob Exempt (Yes / No): YesWorkplace Model: At Invesco, our workplace model supports our culture and meets the needs of our clients while providing flexibility our employees value.
