Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first The Director, IT Vendor Management is responsible for the resource operating model strategy, third-party resource engagements, contract outcomes and related labor skillsets that enable the Site Reliability to support, maintain, integrate, and optimize technology platforms and applications for Humana. The role provides strategic advice and guidance across SRE and multiple L1, L2 areas and will lead budget, communication and other SRE operating teams. Highly skilled with broad, advanced labor management and contractor negotiation experience.
The Director, IT Vendor Management will lead the vendor strategy, relationships and labor contracts for a $50MM+ third-party spend to support 1400+ applications, growing 10% historically per year, and encompassing approximately 1,000 contracted resources. This strategic leader will drive both financial and subject matter expertise value by advancing vendor performance through the next generation contracts and related resource expertise alignments. This role will also provide oversight and governance to the ongoing operating budget actuals and planning, partnering with Technology teams both within and outside the SRE organization.
Key Responsibilities: + Leading vendor partnerships
+ Evaluating current and creating new KPI's to govern vendor performance and cost.
+ Serve as the primary subject matter expert for SRE's vendor performance across all dimensions including but not limited to: spend, resource capabilities and allocation
+ Negotiation and contract analysis, partnering across the SRE Vice President's staff and other key leaders across the Humana CTO organization.
+ Budget planning, analysis and contract optimization opportunities across both SRE and adjacent L1, L2 responsibility areas
+ Leadership of multiple operational SRE teams
Use your skills to make an impact Required Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in IT, financial, management or similar field
+ 5+ years of experience in technology – related vendor management
+ 5+ years in technology-related budget management for significant resource portfolio size (300+ vendor resources)
+ 3+ years of leadership experience with direct reports
+ Experience in negotiating large-scale, highly complex vendor agreements (Statement of Work, Time& Material) of $25MM + in annualized spending
+ Experience in highly matrixed organizations, working across complex areas with highly complex, technology portfolios
+ Strong influence, interpersonal and executive presentation skills
+ Strong financial and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications + MBA or other Advanced Degree
+ Experience in Healthcare Industry
+ Technology support experience in a Site Reliability Engineering or Production Support organization
+ Six Sigma, ITIL , Agile or other related certification
+ Previous experience in large scale technology-related vendor transitions or first-time implementations

Pay Range The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$164,700 – $226,600 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
