Position Summary: The Senior Director of Engineering and Facilities will lead the strategy, planning, and execution of engineering and facility operations for our cutting-edge biopharmaceutical manufacturing and R&D sites. This role is critical in ensuring our facilities and systems meet regulatory requirements, support operational excellence, and align with the company's growth objectives. The Senior Director will oversee facility design, maintenance, utilities, EHS, and capital project execution while fostering a culture of innovation, safety, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities: Leadership and Strategy:Develop and execute a comprehensive engineering and facilities strategy that supports company objectives.Provide leadership to multi-disciplinary teams, including engineering, maintenance, and facilities staff.Collaborate with executive leadership to align initiatives with company growth and regulatory requirements.Facility Operations and Maintenance:Ensure uninterrupted facility and utility operations for R&D, manufacturing, and office spaces.Maintain compliance with cGMP, OSHA, and other applicable regulations.Drive energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost optimization initiatives.Capital Project Management:Lead the planning, budgeting, and execution of large-scale capital projects, including facility expansions and equipment installations.Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory and company standards.Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:Oversee facilities' readiness for inspections and audits by regulatory bodies.Implement risk management practices to mitigate facility and equipment failures.Team Development:Build and mentor a high-performing team of engineers and facilities professionals.Foster a culture of innovation, safety, and continuous improvement.Stakeholder Collaboration:Partner with manufacturing, quality, R&D, and supply chain teams to ensure operational efficiency.Act as the primary point of contact for external vendors and contractors.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.15+ years of experience in engineering, facilities, or related roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.Proven experience in the biopharmaceutical industry with a strong understanding of cGMP requirements.Demonstrated expertise in leading large-scale capital projects and facility operations.Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, including FDA, EMA, and OSHA standards.Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills.Commitment to sustainability and innovation in facility management.Preferred Skills: Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent process improvement expertise.Familiarity with cutting-edge biopharma manufacturing technologies.Experience in multi-site operations.
