Position Summary
Rowland Hall seeks a dedicated and dynamic admission professional to lead and manage all aspects of the financial aid process for PreK through twelfth grade. The ideal candidate must demonstrate understanding and empathy while clearly communicating the school's values, vision, and principles. The Director of Financial Aid will manage multiple budgets and demonstrate proficiency in database and file management tools. Additionally, the Director of Financial Aid is a member of the admission team who helps with admission tours and event planning.

The Director of Financial Aid will work closely with the Director of Enrollment Management and the Chief Financial and Operations Officer. Together, they will make all aid determinations as well as decide on the aid policies of the school.

The Director of Financial Aid should possess strong executive functioning skills, be detail-oriented and adaptable, and thrive in a team environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. This individual will join a mission-driven admission team and must be eager to take initiative, share ideas, engage in professional development, accept feedback, and embrace new and creative approaches.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Guide applicants through the financial aid application process

Participate in the creation and modification of financial aid policies

Review all applications and create award proposals for current and newly admitted families

Lead financial aid committee meetings and communicate decisions to families

Oversee the financial aid budget for each division

Track financial aid information to ensure equitable distribution

Track and communicate the awarding of named scholarships

Collaborate with division colleagues to award non-tuition financial aid, including interims

Skills and Requirements

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong technology skills

Flexible and ready to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands

Fluency and proficiency with data

Ability to manage databases

A balance of detail orientation with big-picture thinking

Maintain a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a passion for education

Experience with confidentiality in a professional setting; possess integrity

Enjoy being around kids

A bachelor's degree, at least five years of administrative experience, and preferably some knowledge of schools

Additional Information
This position reports to the Director of Enrollment Management; the candidate will work with the admission team comprised of the Director, the Lincoln Street Campus Associate Director of Admission, the McCarthey Campus Director of Admission, and the Admission Associate. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. Optimal start date: October 1, 2024. This is a year-round, exempt position.
