Develops, recommends, and administers agency policies and procedures.Measures our clinical operations against Joint Commission requirements and drives clinical excellence throughout our organization. Maintains our organization in a "survey ready" state of operation.Assures compliance with all local, state and federal laws regarding licensure and certification of organization personnel.Stays informed about changes in the field of nursing and home health care. Attends Brightstar monthly online DON meeting. Shares information with appropriate organization personnel.Attends Living Room Visits, making the initial evaluation. Regularly reevaluates the client's nursing and care needs.Prepares clinical and progress notes and summaries of care.Informs the physician and other appropriate personnel of changes in the patient's condition and needs.Counsels the client and family in meeting nursing and related needs.Supervises, educates and coaches other nursing personnel/care-giving staff. Delegates assignments as necessary.Assesses competency of clinical staff and ensures staff is assigned in a manner that promotes quality, continuity and safety of a client's care.Provides care as defined within the scope of the state's nurse practice act. Covers client shift as necessary.Handles the nurse on-call phone, answering off-hours questions as necessary.Plans and implements in-service and training programs.Oversees the maintenance of client clinical records, statistics, reports and records for purposes of evaluation and reporting of organization activities. Maintains those records in compliance with local, state and federal laws.Develops relationships with home health referral agencies.Works with community emergency response organizations and local public health departments, as necessary.Other duties as assigned.RequirementsCurrent unrestricted Wisconsin RN license.Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
