SUMMARY
The Director of Product Sales is accountable for planning and managing the Council-sponsored product sales and retail sales programs. The incumbent provides strategic planning, product orientation and training and ensures that systems are in place to ensure income goals are met ad to safeguard the assets of the Girl Scouts organization at large.
The Director of Product Sales provides supervision to the Product Marketing Coordinators and works with Customer Service Representatives at each service center in relationship to their assistance in supporting local operations of the product sales.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
Establishes annual and long range goals, objectives and plans for council product sales to meet budget and program goals for product and retail sales.Develop and administer an annual operating budget for product sales, including income projection. Deploy resources to achieve goals within budget.Train and supervise a core team of volunteers to promote and conduct each product sale; ensure maximum volunteer participation and customer service at all levels. Work closely with membership team to identify and recruit volunteers to manage product sales at the service unit level.Develop training modules to be utilized by both service unit and troop sales volunteers.Partner with marketing and communications staff to develop and disseminate information to the community about Girl Scout product sales.Secure bids from the product sale vendors and recommend vendors to the executive team.Analyze product and retail sale pricing and incentive structure to maximize sales and revenue to council and troops.Maintain and analyze product and retail sales history data to be used for reporting to board and senior management.Oversee the collections of all product sales funds and provide information to delinquent accounts to finance.Establish and maintain systems that provide premium customer service to volunteers, families, and girls, ensuring healthy and timely exchange of information. Work closely with customer service team to develop and implement localized procedures for product sale resources/support at each service center.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.Skills and experience in budget development, goal setting, tactical planning, problem solving and decision making.Ability to plan, organize and evaluate work and meet deadlines. Ability to delegate, motivate and work well with others.Demonstrated success with program marketing and revenue generation.Good computer skills to include Microsoft office products.Experience with database management.E xcellent oral, written communication and presentation skills.Must be able to lift and load product sale materials up to 35 pounds into and out of vehicles and storage areas.Ability and willingness to travel as the job requires.Provide own method of transportation, maintain valid driver's license with appropriate insurance.Pass initial and periodic background and driver checks.
