Director Of Quality

Amotec has been engaged in a search for a Director of Quality on behalf of our client, a global manufacturing leader in the defense industry.
Reporting to the VP of Manufacturing, the Director of Quality will be responsible for total transformation of the current Quality program and building a more robust system.
Additionally, the Director of Quality will oversee a team of over 25 employees including Quality Managers, Quality Engineers, Inspectors, Technicians and others.

Director of Quality Responsibilities: Lead total turnaround transformation of the Quality program and build upon itDevelop, implement, and continuously improve QMS to ensure compliance with defense industry standards and regulatory requirements.Oversee vendor quality reviews and audits to ensure suppliers meet strict defense industry specifications and quality standards.Lead the design and revision of inspection, testing, and validation processes for both in-house and outsourced components, ensuring adherence to safety and performance standards.Ensure all products meet contract requirements, regulatory certifications, and minimize risks associated with non-compliance, product failures, or defects. Qualifications: Experience in quality excellence, ISO auditing and certification, along with knowledge of MIL-I-45208 standards.Previous experience as a Director or Senior Quality Manager in a defense or military manufacturing environment, leading a team of 20 or more employees.Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing expertise is requiredDirect experience in Navy contracting industry strongly preferred.
