Director, Regional Sales, West

to join our Field Sales team!
Some of the essential aspects of the position include:
The Director, Regional Sales, will have the overall responsibility for providing sales leadership within their assigned region. This includes the development of an overall market and distribution strategy within the region. The Region Director's primary goal is to drive profitable sales growth across HON's distribution channels and vertical market segments.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and prioritize sales activities and opportunities to support the Company strategic plan, to grow the customer base, and to drive long term, sustainable sales growth in a defined area of responsibility.
Promote and implement profitability measures built around provided tools, analytics, and programs to drive profit improvement within the region.
Integrate assigned process initiatives to ensure flawless execution.
Drive alignment of broader strategic initiatives with respective stakeholder groups.
Develop objectives and strategies; set goals and monitor/evaluate against performance. Oversee design and implement new processes, practices and controls.
What it takes:
Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Professional Sales, Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field.
Demonstrated success in developing sales team members.
MBA or related advanced degree preferred.
Seven years of experience in professional sales required.
Preference will be given to candidates who have HON Field Sales experience.
Ability to build, maintain and maximize working relationships with members across The HON Company and HNI organizations as well as external business partners.
Demonstrates integrity as a leader and adheres to HNI's core values.
Demonstrated success in developing a strategic direction, in the assigned market, which aligns with HON's company goals.
Cultivates a team environment and leverages sales members' skills and abilities to drive profitable growth.
Ability to lead a sales team and train others in a fast-paced environment to be successful with high energy, integrity, and a results-oriented leadership style.
Proven consultative sales capabilities including a strong track record of sales development and growth.
Strong business acumen.
Self-motivated with a strong results orientation.
Strong conflict management skills. Ability to handle difficult situations skillfully.
Outstanding communication, presentation and organizational skills.
Demonstrated negotiation and presentation skills.
Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills.
Technologically savvy, adept with MS Office Suite, Web Tools.
Experience in the office furniture industry or related field.
Working/Physical Conditions:
Extensive travel to customer base - up to 90% of time with overnight stays.
Travel to both National Account and customer locations as needed.
Occasional use of hand, arms, legs and/or back in a push/pull or lift motion up to 40 pounds.
Occasional reaching and lifting up to 15 pounds at and above the shoulders.
Continuous and repetitive use of wrist, hands keying in computer system to order product and/or update records.
No special safety equipment is needed.
Must have Valid Driver's License and ability to participate in Fleet Lease Vehicle Program.
Some regions may require member to have own transportation to travel to and from client base, mileage reimbursed.
Member must reside in the designated region.
