Job Announcement: Director – Senior Behavioral Care Unit Location: Troy Regional Medical Center, Troy, AL Troy Regional Medical Center seeks a compassionate and motivated Director of Senior Behavioral Care to join our Team. The Director is the active liaison between the Medical Director, Psychiatric Care Providers, and the Hospitalist in caring for SBCU patients. The Director is responsible for the 24-hour/day staffing, oversight of all Nursing Services for SBCU, and oversight of Social Services and Activities services provided to patients assigned to this unit. The director also has responsibility and collaboration for providing intake and marketing functions, as delegated to the director of case management and the business development department. Responsibilities also include oversight of business and regulatory-related activities of the hospital-based Senior Behavioral Care Unit and for coordination of the provision of care for services that reflect the mission and vision of Troy Regional Medical Center. Key Responsibilities:Planning, organizing, and development of unit functions including but not limited to: operations, staffing, administration, community and client relations, supervision, and leadership. Functions under the direction of the administration and the Medical Director. Reports directly to the Chief Clinical/Nursing Officer. Qualifications:Education: Nursing degree, Masters preferred, or Bachelors with significant experience and ongoing education and training in Psychiatric Nursing.
Experience: 5 years of bedside clinical experience; geriatric and psychiatric experience preferred. Management experience preferred.
Licensure/certification: An Alabama R.N. license is required. CPR certification is required. CPI certification required may be obtained in the first 3 months of employment. Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing certification is required within the first year of employment.
