The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is currently seeking a Director, Research Data to work full time in Miami.
The Director, Research Data designs and implements programs, projects, and studies to further the institution's research goals and objectives.
Further, the incumbent strives to achieve consistent performance, good clinical practice, impeccable regulatory compliance, and audit-ready research operations.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS Identifies problems or inadequacies and proposes and implements solutions.Takes full advantage of available resources to improve service to faculty.Anticipates timelines and analyzes requirements to accomplish projects.Oversees faculty and ensures compliance with guidelines, protocols, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Supervises department budget, and, in collaboration with upper management, allocates resources and establishes controls.Maintains working familiarity of ongoing studies and tracks and organizes data.Preserves current knowledge of clinical research data management, guidelines, best practices, and relevant regulations.Devises recruitment strategies, develops standard operating procedures, and implements training programs.Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.Department Specific Functions Manage and conduct research projects relating to spinal cord injury and bone health/osteoporosis alongside diverse team, including PIs, biostatistician, external collaborators, physical therapists, and physical therapist aides.Conduct SCI/TBI clinical trials and cohort studies data analysis using advanced statistical methods (repeated measures mixed model, multivariate model) to elucidate significant factors and relationships for grant writing, reports (internal and external IRB, funding agencies) and manuscripts.Manage SCI clinical trials including database creation, data validation, IRB documentation, reporting, and submission, with participant recruitment, study visits, and follow-ups.Serve as Data Manager on the Spinal Cord Injury Model System (SCIMS) by collaborating with research partners, build collaborative internal and external alliances.Responsible for training study staff on data collection, study management, and ensure study protocol is followed by developing training manuals.Use sound judgement in the management of research tasks to appropriately prioritize meeting study benchmarks, research-related goals, and deadlines.Provide statistical advice and assistance to the research team (undergraduate/graduate students, medical students/residents/fellows, junior scientists and postdocs) and collaborators with database request utilizing existing database and/or creating new database on related SCI/TBI research projects.Ensure compliance with department-, lab-, and study-specific processes.Display vigilance in record keeping and quality checks by meticulously following study protocols for data collection and data entry.Perform other duties as assigned, and assist other team members with tasks as requested.This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as necessary. CORE QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor's Degree in relevant field.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
