WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview) : Disaster Health Services (DHS) Service Associate (SA) provide s assistance and healthcare to shelter residents as needed .
This position is located in Kahului, HI. Healthcare benefits are available for this temporary role.

Key Responsibilities: Provide hands on care for shelter clients to include but not limited to assistance with activities of daily living, wound care, incontinence care, assistance with functional needs.Provide health education, health assessments and determination if a higher level of care is needed. Assist clients to replace medications, durable medical equipment or consumable medical supplies.Advocate for client needs with Disaster Health Services supervisor.Support maternal and child needs as necessary. Standard Schedule : This is a temporary assignment expected to last 3 months to one year. Work hours are 12 hours per day 6 days per week.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):
Education: Bachelor's degree OR a combination of education and work experience.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience with social services or service/program delivery, or equivalent combination of education and related experience required .
A current, unencumbered license in at least one of the following professions: Registered Nurse (RN) highly preferredLicensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
MUST BE Computer literate and understand basic programs such as outlook email, Teams, word, excel, & web-based systems.
Travel: A valid Driver's License is required .
Physical requirements may include the ability to sit or stand for long periods and adapt to long, irregular hours, and frequent schedule changes are required .

Must be able to provide compassionate care for clients with diverse needs and backgrounds. Demonstrated ability to implement Standards and Procedures and follow associated job tools including reporting requirements.Demonstrated ability to interact with community members in a clear, compassionate manner.Demonstrated ability to involve appropriate others in managing problems and conflict.Ability to acquire , evaluate, and report information accurately.Situational Adaptability: Adapting approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations. Demonstrate time management for daily completion of all tasks for all clients .Demonstrated active listening skills.Ability to stay calm in chaotic situations .Meet the educational and licensure requirements to be a Disaster Health Service Associate (DHS Eligibility Criteria.)Ability to lift/carry 30lbs. multiple times per shift.
