JOIN OUR DEDICATED AND GROWING TEAM VPI Technology (VPI), a division of Ludlum Measurements, Inc., seeks a highly motivated Divisional Controller who is a passionate leader, an effective communicator, and a seasoned accountant with technical skills to join and lead our skilled accounting team.  This full-time, permanent position will be expected to work onsite and report directly to the Managing Director at our Draper, UT office. This team member will be the senior financial professional at VPI, responsible for overseeing the financial reporting processes, performing in-depth manufacturing and operational analysis, and managing the accounting team for VPI; our division has 4 divisions with multiple projects and products.QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in accounting or financeCPA or equivalent experience is preferredMinimum of 5 years experience in an accounting technical and leadership roleMust be a U.S. citizen eligible for U.S. Security ClearanceRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  Strong background in manufacturing and extensive product accounting skills Ability to prepare financial statements, business activity reports, and forecasts Ability to examine, analyze, and interpret accounting data, records, and reportsAbility to prescribe and implement division and corporate accounting standards, policies, and requirements Ability to advise or assist division management on matters of accounting and financial management and to act as liaison with our corporate finance teamKnowledge of government accounting practices and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) in order to manage federal Contract Office, DCAA, DCMA, ICE and other federal relationships Knowledge of accrual accounting and revenue recognitionExperience with Epicor ERP or similar advanced ERP system (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, MS Dynamics)Advanced-level ability using Microsoft ExcelAbility to apply and use Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) theories, concepts, principles, and standardsProactive nature and self-starter who is keen on building a strong team, capable of shifting quickly between tactical and strategic initiativesExperience leading or supporting change management, creating a culture focused on growth and collaboration, achieving results through sound judgment, creating a positive employee experience motivated by pride in performanceStrong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizationPreferred Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesExperience using SQL and ability to form SQL expressions to extract data from company systemsAbility to analyze market trends to maximize profits and find expansion opportunities Previous experience with services project accounting Experience leading forecasting and budgeting activitiesFamiliarity with tax law, reporting, auditing, and filing Familiarity with banking relationships and requirementsJOB RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee the accounting, audit, and budget functions of the companyDirect the preparation of financial reports that summarize and forecast the organization's financial position (e.g., income statements, balance sheets, and analysis of future earnings or expenses) Product accounting oversight of all manufactured productsManage, lead, and direct all aspects of government financial accountingEstablish and earn the leadership credibility, rapport, and trust of employeesDevelop a comprehensive knowledge and personally own all aspects of the performance of the finance and accounting department at VPIEnsure the accounting team's complete, accurate, and timely accountingArchitect scalable accounting systems and procedures to adapt to changing business needsPrepare special reports required by government agencies, and present financial reports and analyses to Senior-level management  Use risk management techniques to study and analyze the company's liabilities and investments and ensure risk is known and reduced when possibleManage all finance and accounting staff at VPI and provide oversight of payroll, benefits, and compensationOther duties as assignedWHY VPI?
