The new team member is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of Bulldozers for the purposes of earth-moving operations. Core Principles: Live and work by the "Golden Rule ": do unto others as you would have them do unto you Safety for you and your team members is the cornerstone of every decision Take responsibility for your actions and decisions Always act in a way that reflects positively on both you and the Company Be an effective and motivated team member by not only working towards Company goals, but personal and professional goals as well Core Competencies: Effective communication skills; must be able to understand and speak English Working knowledge of all applicable OSHA standards Attention to detail and accuracy Willingness to react to changes in priorities Core Duties: Be a mentor to other team members by teaching them proper techniques of Excavator operation for grading operations Be punctual, dependable and professional at all times Work with cost effectiveness, profitability and safety in mind Lead by example Lead the safety effort by recognizing and correcting hazards as soon as they are present Arrive at work prior to designated work start time Attend daily safety and project coordination meeting Proficient in safe operation of CAT bulldozers (CAT D5-D8) Operate bulldozer controls to regulate height and angle of the blade and lower ripper to loosen packed soil to permit grading Feel levers and listen to equipment sounds to determine depth of the cut Operate bulldozer in successive passes over construction surface to raise and lower terrain to specified grade, following markings on grade stakes, hand signals or GPS controls. Check fluid levels daily before use Assist in locating existing utilities to avoid damage Ensure equipment stays in clean working order and report any issues to Pipe Foreman Restore post construction work to original condition or better Communicate time away from work with your team leader and other team members with sufficient notice to make plans for changing personnel to focus on the priorities Willingness to work hours as required Education/Training/Certification: OSHA Safety Training
