Electronic Health Records Coordinator Elwood Care Center & Assisted Living Job Description This position is full-time and will work Monday - Friday.

The person who fills this position has the opportunity to positively interact daily with physician offices, hospitals, family members, team members, and residents. The EHR Coordinator is extremely organized, pays attention to detail, and can multi-task.
Qualified candidates will be passionate about customer service, friendly, high energy, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. They will possess high personal integrity, a caring attitude, and portray a positive image. Nursing experience is preferred.

Ability to use standard office equipment and computer software proficiently. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports, general business directives, policy and procedure statements, and governmental regulations. This is typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or nursing background. At least one year of experience in the health information management field is preferred. This ensures a working knowledge of the parts of a medical record and the rules and regulations imposed on the health information management field of health care. Medical terminology knowledge preferred. Excellent organizational, follow-through, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and accurately handle multiple priorities. Ability to complete reports and correspondence at a professional level. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with regard to protected and sensitive information. Ability to solve problems independently and confidently by applying analytical and logical thinking. Ability to immediately respond to common inquiries and complaints from residents, employees, insurance companies, and regulatory agencies. Provide exemplary customer service. Subject to frequent interruptions. Basic computer skills – Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Internet, with the ability to perform accurate data entry, and the ability to acquire new computer skills as necessary. Excellent communication (listening, verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a high degree of tact, judgment, courtesy, and a high level of confidentiality when dealing with all levels of staff and the public.
