The Electrical Systems Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and optimizing electrical systems in a fast-paced food processing or manufacturing environment. This role will collaborate closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure the electrical, instrumentation, and control systems for production and material handling are operating efficiently. The technician will respond to electrical issues, provide technical support, and ensure the continuity of production.
Key Responsibilities: Electrical Systems Maintenance:Respond to facility electrical, instrumentation, and control system issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems for food processing, manufacturing, packaging, and material handling equipment.Perform routine maintenance and inspections on electrical systems, including preventive and predictive maintenance tasks.Ensure that electrical systems comply with all safety and regulatory requirements, including those related to food safety and environmental standards.Instrumentation & Control:Diagnose and repair instrumentation and control systems such as sensors, relays, motor controls, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).Maintain, install, and calibrate instrumentation used to monitor and control equipment, ensuring precise operation in production processes.Collaboration & Customer Service:Collaborate with operations staff to provide rapid response and excellent customer service to resolve production-related electrical issues.Assist production personnel in troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical problems, providing guidance on safe and effective resolution strategies.Communicate effectively with other maintenance, engineering, and operations personnel to minimize disruption during repairs and ensure efficient system functionality.Safety & Compliance:Follow and enforce safety protocols when working with electrical systems, including lockout/tagout procedures, ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment.Document all electrical work and maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and calibrations.Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and regulatory requirements related to electrical safety, especially in food processing environments.Required Skills & Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Technical degree in Electrical Systems, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.Experience:Minimum 1-3 years of experience in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment.Experience with food processing equipment and packaging machinery is a plus.Skills:Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.Excellent teamwork and communication skills.Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.Physical Demands & Work Environment: Ability to work in a manufacturing environment where conditions may include exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, and chemicals.Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.May require shift work and flexibility to work weekends, holidays, or overtime, as neededPay Range"$22.15/HR
