ORGANIZATION SUMMARY World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world's greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. Today, organizational programming focuses on humanitarian and disaster response, community strengthening and resilience, and refugee & immigrant services and advocacy.
This position is reliant upon funding and may be subject to modification or termination based on resource availability. POSITION SUMMARY: World Relief seeks an Employment Program Intern. This role works with the Employment Specialists and Supervisor in administering refugee services and assisting in finding employment for newly arrived refugees. This position requires staff coordination and engagement, direct service skills and strong administrative and organizational skills.
This is a limited-term internship until May 30, 2025.
\n ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist the Employment Specialists and Supervisor in administering refugee services and assisting in finding employment for newly arrived refugees. Assist in conducting Employment Program orientations for new clients and meet with current cases as needed to assess progress towards self-sufficiency and job placements. Provide direct assistance with building resumes, applications, interviews, and job offer paperwork. Support the facilitation of training workshops on topics such as interviewing skills, networking, and job skills.Assist refugee clients learning local transportation and support conducting CapMetro bus trainings for refugees. Other responsibilities as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS:Mature and personal Christian faithCommitted to the mission, vision, and values of World ReliefDesire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communitiesAble to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation documentDesire to serve refugees in support of the overall mission of World Relief Exceptional organizational/time management skills and ability to handle multiple projects at one time.Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.Self-motivated worker with the ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative and creativity Intermediate computer knowledge, including MS Office and the ability to learn new programs (previous experience with databases desired) Previous cross-cultural experience required Dependable and consistent in attendance and performance Ability to work well as part of and team and with diverse groups of people PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Some Undergraduate experience required
