Job Title: Engineer A - Craft Job Function: Support Department: Plant Operations Location: Sierra View Medical Center Employment Type: Full Time Shift: Days Min Pay Rate: 33.02 Max Pay Rate: 46.24 Flat Rate: Engineer A - Craft *Shift: 7:00A - 3:30P POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Engineering Manager, repairs, and/or installs all equipment, as assigned Must be able to work normal/scheduled working hours to include Holidays, call-backs, weeknights, weekends, and on-call. Agrees to participate, as directed, in emergencies and community disasters during scheduled and unscheduled hours. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Education/License/Certification: Must have education/training experience in at least one of the three (3) areas as described below: (1) HVAC/Refrigeration: A minimum of five (5) years of experience with Journeyman level skills in the HVAC/Refrigeration trade or an HVAC/Refrigeration organized apprenticeship program. Working knowledge of chiller and boiler systems is also required. Commercial refrigeration and ice machine experience preferred. (2) Plumbing : A minimum of five (5)years of experience with Journeyman level skills in the commercial plumbing trade or an organized apprenticeship program. Knowledge of current plumbing codes required, and experience with hot water heating systems preferred. (3) Tenured/Semi-skilled: In the absence of an organized apprenticeship program, applicants must be skilled in a least two (2) identified trades with a minimum of ten years of full-time employment in the Engineering/Maintenance department at Sierra View Medical Center or another acute care, inpatient, healthcare facility. Experience/Skills: Individuals should have a high school diploma, GED, or trade school education. Must have knowledge in principles of all equipment used in hospitals. Proficiently reads schematics, manuals, and blueprints on engines and blowers. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages if required.
