Position Overview:
We are seeking an Environmental Specialist for our Rolling Stock manufacturing facility in Lexington, NC. This position is responsible for supporting and participating in cross-functional EHS projects and initiatives to achieve Siemens' goals and objectives. The role will work closely with the EHS team in pursuit of environmental and safety excellence. The ideal candidate will possess a working knowledge of current environmental regulations, policies, and practices, as well as strong safety, interpersonal, and communication skills. This position will report to the Business's EHS Manager.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Lead and support environmental projects, initiatives, and reporting.
Promote best management practices through operational excellence and ensure compliance in all administrative and operational functions.
Assist in developing, maintaining, and implementing EHS policies, practices, guidelines, and procedures, with a focus on environmental aspects.
Ensure employees and operations comply with environmental regulations and support the review of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.
Maintain appropriate metrics, evaluate data trends, and provide data input for management reviews, aiming for continuous improvement.
Coordinate environmental incident/accident investigations.
Conduct environmental and EHS audits and risk assessments.
Participate in external compliance and loss prevention audits.
Ensure compliance with environmental permitting, notices, and standards.

To thrive in this role, you have:
3+ years of experience in an environmental, health, and/or safety position, with experience in a manufacturing environment
B.S. Degree and / or Professional Certification in Occupational Safety or related
Possess knowledge of standard industry environmental practices
Detailed knowledge/understanding and practical application of health and safety regulations (OSHA, NCDEQ, EPA, etc.)
Must demonstrate the ability and willingness to successfully work independently and in team environments.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate safety hazards and recommendations effectively to all levels of the organization.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
Proficient in using EHS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Preferred Three+ years of experience related to ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.

Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.  Details regarding our benefits can be found here:https://www.benefitsquickstart.com/siemens/index.html.  The base salary range for this position in Lexington, NC is $65,400 - $76,800.The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
