Short Term Events Contractor Need to Support our Gala Team

We help passionate young leaders win scholarships to U.S. universities, provide them with leadership training, and pair them with U.S. mentor teams who help them thrive in college and launch change-agent careers at home.
We have helped 119 young women from Rwanda, Cambodia, Liberia, and Guatemala win $37M in full scholarships at top U.S. colleges.
SHE-CAN is looking for a short-term contractor to join our Marketing and Events team to support us in preparing for and executing our annual gala - Revolution 2.0.
The gala is on November 9 at the SF War Memorial.
This is our ninth year of hosting our gala and we are a well-polished machine but would like an experienced event person to provide specific support and know-how.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee organizing, packing and moving all equipment in and out of the venue. Working in tandem with staff to ensure the Registration Desk is managed, creating seat assignments in the Herbst Theatre, and creating name tags. Managing the printing of event materials which includes signage and the program Being available for misc.
roles before and during the event.
Qualifications:
Experience in Event Management: 2-3 years of experience in planning, supporting, and executing major events with 300+ attendees, particularly in non-profit or fundraising settings. Strong Organizational Skills: Demonstrated ability to coordinate logistics, manage multiple priorities, and ensure smooth execution of event components. Detail-Oriented: Adept at handling detailed tasks such as creating seat assignments, managing registration, producing name tags, and overseeing print materials. Problem-Solving and Flexibility: Ability to think on their feet and adapt quickly to changing needs during the event. Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Comfortable working closely with staff, vendors, and volunteers, and able to provide clear instructions and support as needed.
This position will require being in the office approximately 60 hours starting October 21st.
The week before the event you will need to be the office full time, and late the night before the event, as well as all day and evening on November 9th, and available for unloading on November 10th.
The contract position is $4,000.
