The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and professional direction in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to sustainability, energy initiatives, and environmental compliance.
This role involves overseeing DHS-wide programs to ensure alignment with departmental goals and federal environmental laws, including the National Environmental Policy Act, the National Historic Preservation Act, the Endangered Species Act, and Environmental Justice.
The Executive Director will also be tasked with establishing the DHS resilience framework and leading efforts to reduce the organization's carbon footprint.
Applicants for the Executive Director position must have a proven track record of executive leadership and supervisory experience in the field of sustainability and environmental management.
The role requires a deep understanding of the principles and objectives of environmental policies and procedures, as well as the ability to manage large, complex, enterprise-wide programs in partnership with diverse stakeholders.
