Job description
The Mitigation Manager is a key role that reports to the Operations Manager/Florida Regional Director.
They provide essential support to our Central Florida customers, including estimating and commercial and residential project management.
The Mitigation Manager is responsible for a range of crucial tasks, such as crafting estimates, overseeing daily operations, managing restoration technicians, creating schedules, and conducting property inspections.
A hands-on approach is essential for the Mitigation Manager to ensure seamless operations while addressing the needs of customers whose properties have faced water, fire, biohazard, and/or wind damage.
It is imperative for the Mitigation Manager to oversee projects from initiation to completion and maintain meticulous documentation in adherence to URI's standards.
Essential Job Duties:
- Drive to the project site to meet with the property owner, obtain work authorization, gather necessary documentation, and write the scope of work in Xactimate, Symbility, or Edge.
- Supervise the work and field documentation produced by technicians and subcontractors involved in the process.
- Develop the schedule of technicians proactively and efficiently, minimizing unbillable costs and unnecessary delays in the process.
- Write estimates and negotiate the scope of work with property managers, insurance adjusters, and auditors from third-party administrator companies such as Contractor Connection, Alacrity, Homee, PRN, etc.
- Evaluate properties affected by water, fire, and wind damage and develop a comprehensive plan for property restoration, water extraction, mold remediation, etc.
Oversee each mitigation site from start to finish, adhering to company protocols.
This includes conducting regular quality control inspections, coordinating work carried out by Restoration Technicians, and ensuring that field documentation is accurate and meets URI's standards and is also acceptable to property managers and insurance carriers.
Keep property owners/clients informed about mitigation and job scheduling while managing their expectations.
Maintain an updated job schedule to ensure timely project completion.
Develop a budget and expedite the procurement of materials, supplies, labor, and equipment scheduling.
Manage project costs within the company's profit margin standards and assist with proactive collections.
Maintain a subcontractor base and assist with the onboarding of new subcontractors.
Ensure compliance with the company's health and safety policies and procedures.
Willingness to travel at short notice.
Flexible work schedule to operate outside regular business hours and be available for on-call duties or site inspections.
Show urgency and be ready to meet the needs of our demanding clients.
Work closely with the company to achieve our targets.

High School Diploma and a minimum of three years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have a strong background in restoration and proven ability to lead and coach a team.
Proficient in using a laptop computer and industry software.
Solid experience in writing estimates in Xactimate.
Preferred experience with PSA (project management software), Encircle, Docusketch, Moisture Mapper, and other industry tools and software.
IICRC and OSHA certifications are desired but not required for the position.
