Who We Serve Pacific Clinics serves children, transitional-age youth, families, adults, and older adults. This team can facilitate psychiatric hospitalization and write 72-hour holds.

JOB SUMMARY Works within the vision, mission, and philosophy of the agency. Under direct supervision, models strength-based relationships with youth and families. Working in the living environment or the school setting, assists in the design and implementation of interventions and strategies in support of youth and family goals. Ensures the provision of safety and health in a variety of environments for youth and families in accordance with agency standards. Coaches primary caregivers and other community members. Provides mentorship and support of Residential Family Specialist I.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Demonstrates mastery of the Family Specialist I Job Description, or mastery of the skills described in the Family Specialist I job description.Organizes, implements, and evaluates appropriate activities to achieve youth, family/caregiver identified goals.Supports the facilitation of trainings.Provides coaching and mentoring to others in the principles and concepts of positive behavior change and crisis management.Documents interactions, practices, and maintains administrative expectations in a timely manner. Provides direct billable mental health services, documents in alignment with MediCal regulations, and achieves set productivity expectations.Provides leadership in developing program responses to needs identified across a number of youth and families/caregivers where natural community resources are not available or appropriate.Trains, orients, and coaches Residential/Crisis Stabilization Unit Family Specialists I.Participates in physical restraints using Therapeutic Crisis Intervention techniques.Required to meet applicable productivity and documentation requirements.Position specific duties, responsibilities, and requirements may vary depending upon program.Leads the shift and ensures that all tasks during shifts are delegated and completed.Performs other related responsibilities, as assigned, to support specific department/business needs.Assists Mental Health Clinician with initial and ongoing assessment and treatment planning. Also assists in completing case management and administrative functions.Supports in the development and maintenance of safety plans with youth, parents/caregivers.Designs and facilitates therapeutic groups.Utilizes effective interpersonal skills to promote positive and cooperative relationships with youth and their family members through the therapeutic treatment process.Position requires moderate scheduling flexibility with reasonable notice based on program needs.RESIDENTIAL ONLY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Facilitates, supports, and models participation in healthy group dynamics within various settings including family homes, schools, parks, and recreation centers.Participates in the on-call rotation.Driving to appointments with clients and their families or other key contacts.Assists in stabilizing residential or home placement through strength-based counseling, crisis intervention, and parent/caregiver education.Helps parents/caregivers learn the techniques required to manage youth's behavioral triggers or intervention strategies and ensure their daily care and supervision.Completes assigned tasks that facilitate placement (e.g., ensure that the youth's academic, medical, therapeutic and/or tutoring needs are met).JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES Documents Clearly and AccuratelyEncouraging Customer FocusInitiativeTime ManagementQUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS AND/OR EXPERIENCE Associate's Degree (AA/AS) in related field AND six (6) years experience working with children required.OR
