Overview:
As a member of the leadership team, the Farm Manager will oversee all cultural practices including pruning, tillage, planting, pest control, fertilization, and irrigation management across ~6,000 acres of a highly diversified portfolio. You will utilize your managerial, operational, and agricultural expertise to lead and develop a team of 4 direct reports, implement process improvements with a focus on the row crop portfolio, and increase performance of the internal and custom farming operations.
Roles & Responsibilities
:
Direct and coordinate field worker activities.
Review timecards for accurate reporting.
Maintain seamless communication between the field and accounting department.
Analyze costs and ensure amounts being charged to customers are appropriate.
Review budgets created by the accounting department for custom farming and add input as needed.
Review monthly custom farming invoices for accuracy and completeness.
Monitor crop quality, weather implications, and develop contingency plans as needed.
Adhere to budgeting and invoicing deadlines.
Assist with the management of general upkeep of all locations and properties.
Requirements
:
Bachelor's degree in agriculture or 5-10 years of current experience in lieu of a degree.
3-5 years of hands-on farming experience, including staff management and crop production.
Row crop experience is required.
Bilingual skills in English and Spanish is preferred.
Ability to manage farm budgets.
Excellent Excel Skills required.
Ability to communicate effectively with the office and farming teams.
Private Applicator License is not required but a bonus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
