We are looking for a Field Chemist to support an environmental consulting firm based in Kansas City, KS. This role will involve travel across the state of Kansas and surrounding areas. Hours will be M-F, Daylight with some travel overnight involved (1-2 times per week). Primary Purpose Responsible for sorting, and transporting hazardous and non-hazardous materials and waste. Will ensure compatibility and safety processes at all time for each job and lab pack services provided to customers. Some travel will be required as this position will fill in at outside locations as necessary. Perks Retention bonus of $1500 CDL Class B certification (company will pay for this!) Tuition reimbursement up to $7800 Essential Functions and Responsibilities Prioritizing Health & Safety as the primary objective by adhering to policies and procedures and consistently maintaining a safe approach. Aiding in the classification of chemicals based on hazard class, ensuring proper segregation, and utilizing suitable containers for transportation while completing essential documentation for each job. Identifying and preparing necessary supplies for job completion and traveling to various industrial, laboratory, and educational sites to perform lab pack services. Assisting in the characterization of materials at field project locations. Adhering to appropriate placarding and load segregation guidelines during the transportation of hazardous materials. Building positive relationships with clients through effective and clear communication. Supervising and guiding Field Technicians/Drivers involved in waste collection activities. Possessing introductory knowledge of managing and assessing high hazard materials and handling cylinders. Desired Skills and Experience Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Earth Science, Geology, or other related field US Driver's License + Clean driving record
