Responsibilities: Subject Matter Expert level understanding of NFPA with ability to consult an organization or project on meeting specific requirements.Provide fire protection design for DOE and DoD governmental facilities.Independently applies extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and relates fields.Works on projects of moderate scope with complex features.Receives supervision and guidance relating to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters.Design tasks include Conceptual Studies, Program Requirements, Design Analyses, Calculations, Equipment selection and layout, and System selection and layout.Ensures internal communication and coordination of design efforts.Coordinate support activities required to complete design efforts and quality assurance processes.Work with other disciplines to ensure accuracy of the package, meet schedule, and budget commitments.Meet with clients to prepare and/or validate proposed scope of work.Prepare labor-hour proposals for fire protection design work.Meets expectations for attendance and punctuality. Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from A.B.E.T. Accredited Program in Fire Protection, Mechanical, Architectural, or Electrical Engineering with experience in Fire Protection.Uses advanced techniques in the modification or extension of theories and practices of sciences and disciplines to complete assignments.Experience with building and fire safety code analysis, fire dynamic analysis, and fire risk analysis is required.Must have a minimum of eight (8) to twelve (12) years of related experience and/or training.Candidate must be capable of and willing to obtain a Q clearance.Client projects for this position require US Citizenship.
