Job summary
The Payroll Production Analyst is responsible for conducting financial reviews and analysis related to Work Study and Payroll for Washington State University.Position involves analyzing and interpreting payroll fiscal data, identifying errors, and taking corrective action in accordance with policies.Works closely with departmental staff and Modernization staff to increase efficiencies and system enhancements.
Job seniority: mid-to-senior level
Responsibilities
• Conduct complex financial reviews and analysis related to Work Study and Payroll.• Analyze and interpret payroll fiscal data, identify errors, and take corrective action.• Review, analyze, and interpret complex data and apply detailed federal and state work-study policies.• Relay and translate complex information at all levels within the university.• Work closely with departmental staff and Modernization staff to increase efficiencies and system enhancements.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with accounting, auditing, or budgeting coursework and 1 year of relevant professional experience.• Ability to work outside normal work hours, including nights and weekends.• Experience with WSU accounting systems and good computer skills.• Experience in payroll, personnel, or benefits in a higher education setting.• Ability to work under tight deadlines and in stressful situations.• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
