Summary Part-Time: 20-25 hours/week Position Overview Craftsbury Saplings Community Children's Center seeks an organized, efficient, and creative chef to prepare daily meals for up to 28 people, including staff and students aged 15 months to 5 years. This opening can be either a Planning & Preparation Chef or a Preparation-Only Chef. You will work with teachers to provide meals that engage children in food preparation and meet the dietary needs of students and staff. A great candidate will be excited about bringing local food and gardening projects into the classroom while preparing delicious meals. Duties Key Responsibilities - Prep only Prepare healthy and delicious meals daily (2 snacks and lunch)Maintain kitchen space and records up to standards aligned with the Child Care Licensing RegulationsPerform daily and monthly kitchen and meal-related cleaning tasksMaintain documentation in compliance with the Child and Adult Food Program Additional Responsibilities as Food Manager Plan menus that align with the Federal Child and Adult Food ProgramManage budgeting and purchasing for all food and kitchen-related equipment and supplies Requirements Knowledge of food preparation practices and cooking methodsParticipate in required training and stay up to date on annual training needsAbility to maintain accurate records and pay close attention to detailsWorking knowledge of Spreadsheets and Email or willing to learn on the jobValid driver's license and ability to pass a Federal Background Check Nice To Haves Local food system knowledge preferredExperience working with children in a kitchen setting Benefits Up to 3.5 weeks paid time off and 9 paid holidaysMonthly Wellness Stipend to be used at employee's discretionEmployer Contributed Simple IRA planPaid Family Medical LeaveMeals at work providedFree membership to the Craftsbury Outdoor Center with discounted nordic skiing and fitness classesDiscount to a local Farm Food Share (CSA)
