What does a typical day look like for the Food Service Worker?
You will:
Serve food and beverages Prepare simple food and trays for Veterans Deliver trays to the Veterans Record and retrieve Veteran diet information Wash dishes Follow all safety and sanitation procedures to uphold health regulations and standards Provide friendly and attentive customer service to veterans and their families Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the food service team and meet the needs of veterans What qualifications do you look for?
You might be the person we're looking for if you have: High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required Previous experience in food service or customer service (preferred) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities Compassion and empathy for serving veterans and meeting their needs Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards, including food handling and sanitation guidelines Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move objects up to 50 pounds Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead as required Ability to commit 40 hours a week
