Ewing's Freight Coordinator is responsible managing the flow of shipments to and from Ewing's manufactures, warehouses and branches. This individual will also build and optimize the use of carrier/ broker partner relationships, in order to fulfill Ewing's shipping requirements
The job performance of a Freight Coordinator will be evaluated based upon their effectiveness in executing the duties and responsibilities listed below.
Requirements • Prepare shipping related documents.
• Provide rate quotes when required.
• Post loads to various load boards.
• Negotiate rates and terms with carrier partners and customers.
• Arrange truckload, LTL, and intermodal shipments.
• Track/ update truckload, LTL and intermodal shipments and delivery issue resolution.
• Organize load files for easy access.
• Remain on the cutting edge of emerging technologies that foster improvement in supply chain and logistics management.
• Monitor shipment execution performance.
• Manage relationship development and performance oversight of suppliers, brokers and carriers.
• Develop standard process procedures and best practices, help identify process improvement and cost savings opportunities.
• Ability to become familiar with and knowledgeable of TMS and brokerage systems.
• Help manage carriers' operating performance and provide feedback to transportation leaders as appropriate.
• Accurate and timely completion of workload.
• Exhibit job proficiency and expected behaviors.
• Execute the annual plan in accordance with the Company's strategic objectives under the direction of the Director of Procurement.
• Adopt and master the use of basic company tools and systems including technology, software, email, etc.
• Always provide superior customer service.
• Conduct other duties as assigned by leadership.
