The Courtyard Newark - University of Delaware has an immediate opening for Guest Service Representatives with dynamic personalities and strong technical skills for a very busy Front Desk.

Interested candidates for this position must be able to... To work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts, as required to meet the needs of the Company's business operations Maintain complete knowledge at all times of: All hotel features/services, hours of operation. All room types, numbers, layout, decor, appointments and location. All room rates, special packages and promotions. Daily house count and expected arrivals/departures. Room availability status for any given day. Scheduled daily group activities. Yield management strategies that are in place. Hotel and departmental policies and procedures. Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies.
Keep bank secure at all times. Answer department telephone within 3 rings, using correct greeting and telephone etiquette. Process all guest check-ins according to established hotel requirements. Manage guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
Document all guest requests, complaints or problems immediately and notify designated department/personnel for resolving the situation.
Follow up to ensure completion and guest satisfaction. Generate, print and distribute daily reports to designated departments/personnel. Resolve discrepancies on the room status report with Housekeeping. Process all check-outs according to established hotel requirements. Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding. Adhere to payment, cash handling and credit policies/procedures. Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Interested candidates for this position must have... High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum one year customer service experience; previous hotel experience preferred. Relevant computer experience. Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for clientele. Demonstrated problem-solving abilities. Strong multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment. Ability to follow directions and work both independently and with a team. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts. Prior Marriott experience a plus.
