Overview:Opening Soon! North Port Behavioral Health HospitalNorth Port Behavioral Health Hospital is a new 144-bed acute hospital located in North Port, FL. North Port will have six units, providing psychiatric care to youths, adults and seniors, in addition, the hospital will have IOP/PHP and ECT services.Opening in October/November 2024, we will be seeking general psychiatrists to make up this new teamOverview:Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization and/or medication.Responsibilities:Responsible for providing clinical services to patients at the facility.Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures.Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations.Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders.Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications.Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner.Qualifications:Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.One or more years' post graduate degree practice preferred.Licensed in the the state in which the facility(s) operate.Licenses/Certifications:Board certification in psychiatryCurrent DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.For more details, please contact - or Practice with Acadia HealthcareAcadia is a leading provider of behavioral healthcare services across the United States.Headquartered in Franklin, Tennessee, Acadia Healthcare operates a network of 250 behavioral healthcare facilities with approximately 11,000 beds in 39 states and Puerto Rico, more than 23,000 employees serving approximately 70,000 patients daily.
