The Global Citizenship team helps shape the international program that fulfills the larger responsibility we have to society. The Global Citizenship intern will work closely with the Global Citizenship team on day-to-day activities and prepare environmental data collection and management, regulatory reporting requirements, and sustainability-related requests from clients and partners. They will also participate in larger projects such as implementing global environmental sustainability initiatives and strategy, tracking progress towards our environmental goals, and effectively communicating sustainability efforts both internally and externally. \n Responsibilities:Manage and monitor Edelman's internal energy reporting platform, Sphera, for 65 global officesCollect, audit, and organize environmental data used in Edelman's emissions footprint calculationsDevelop and maintain One Citizenship data bank and management system for various ESG reporting needsManage global network of 150+ local Citizenship representatives on implementing environmental strategy locally; field and address questions and concerns from membersCoordinate implementation of global initiatives to reduce emissions attributed to fuel and electricity use, waste production, travel, etc. Attend and occasionally lead internal training sessions and presentations as well as external conferences, webinars, and speaking opportunitiesAssist with the development and execution of internal communications to engage Edelman's 6,000+ employees in CitizenshipAssist with tracking and calculating office Citizenship scores (C-Score) using published methodology; communicate scores with local leads and field questionsResearch and compile materials needed for meetings, calls, projects, etc.Coordinate and oversee document production and projects, as requested Maintain files, contacts database, and record keeping needs of practiceAttend team meetings and take responsibility for follow-up action Demonstrate prioritization and time management skillsComplete special projects as assigned, including creative design of materials, writing projectsCoordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure clear communication and alignment on project deliverables, timelines, and milestones, keeping all stakeholders informed and up to dateDemonstrate behaviors consistent with Edelman's values and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct Basic Qualifications:This position is open to candidates who hold a bachelor's degree, preferably in Environmental Studies, Engineering, Sustainability, Communications, or a related field, or to college seniors currently pursuing such degree with expected completion by Summer 2025Experience with data collection, auditing and tracking is required Preferred Qualifications: Should have a passion for CSR and sustainabilityStrong organizational skills and attention to detailExperience with carbon accounting procedures and methodologies and GHG emissions reporting is preferredExcellent interpersonal and communications skills, the demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once and the confidence to work independently and with senior level executives with little supervisionThe ability to successfully manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint; Proficiency with Sphera is highly desirable and will give candidates a competitive advantageFamiliarity and/or experience working with UN Sustainable Development Goals, GHG Protocol, EcoVadis, CDP, Carbon Trust Standard, GRI, TCFD, CSRDExperience working with individuals from different backgrounds and geographies; ability to grasp complex and rapidly changing global regulatory landscapeDemonstrate proficiency in writing internal and external communications materials ensuring quality and consistency with AP writing style.
