Grant Accountant

The Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, the leading champion of empowerment and opportunity for African Americans and others throughout the region in securing economic self-reliance, social equality, and civil rights, is seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for helping others to join our Finance team as a Grant Accountant.
Responsibilities include:
Perform accrual-based accounting functions for federal, state, and local grant-funded programs. Preparing program reimbursement requests. Process and review cash activity associated with grant-funded programs. Prepare journal entries, financial statements, and other accounting-related functions. The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting 3 - 5 years of accounting experience working with federal, state, and local grants. Extensive knowledge of GAAP, COSO Internal Control Framework, and federal and state financial standards and regulations. Proficient in automated accounting systems with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Non-profit accounting experience is preferred, and knowledge of Federal Grant Accounting is desired. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
