DescriptionThe General Manager is responsible for taking charge of the team, leading by example, ensuring the client and member experience is top-notch, that the team as a whole hits its daily, weekly, and monthly revenue goals, and seeks to carry out ownership goals as their own.
ResponsibilitiesAccountability of StaffEnsure daily revenue targets are set, clearly communicated, and pursued to attainmentEnsure all staff attend weekly sales coaching callsEnsure staff are positive, enthusiastic, focused, and on taskSet the tone and attack speed for the rest of the teamKeep it positive, enthusiastic, and motivate the teamRevenue/ FinancesMonthly revenue targets will be set with ownership on a monthly basisUpdate owners daily on statusEnsure team is performing and hitting daily targets that contribute towards monthly targetRevenue attainment is not optionalLook for new revenue opportunities and meet with owners to discussUnderstand monthly budget and work to ensure profitabilityCheck the safe weekly, add up safe deposits, report to ownership, and make depositMarketingWork with marketing lead to ensure a marketing plan is built out and adhered toEnsure that marketing lead is up to date on big projects and tasked with items to contribute toward target attainment in regard to the marketing responsibilitiesEstablish relationships with strategic partners in the community to grow membership base and the gym presenceStaffingEnsure we are fully staffed every day of the weekCover any empty shifts that aren't staffed with no excusesTrain all staff effectively, hold staff accountable to targets and expectations, and ensure all staff are contributingRun payroll after the first and 15th to ensure employees get paid on timeEnsure all employee paperwork is completely filled out and current at all timesEnsure staff know how to properly utilize the POS system so as not to lose moneyCleaningUltimately responsible for the cleanliness of the gymHire and retain a cleaner on staff and ensure they understand the expectationsEnsure daily staff are doing their share by taking care of closing and opening tasks that include taking out trash and picking up the gymDo periodic quality checks to ensure gym is to the correct standardFacilitiesKeep a list of facility maintenance and updates that need to be completedCoordinate with owners on repairs and maintenance but eventually take over the responsibility for doing soKeep inventory of equipmentResponsible for preventative maintenance of equipment (cleaning equipment, lubing cable machines, etc.
)Coordinate with cleaner to order proper cleaning supplies from Waxie and other vendorsEnsure clean and orderly maintenance, HVAC room, and supply room in the backQualificationsManager must meet the following qualifications:
