Harvest And Operations Assistant

Job Description: Willowcroft Farm Vineyards is the oldest winery in Loudoun County, VA, now celebrating 40 years of winemaking. We are located in a rural setting atop of the Catoctin Ridge, and our winery overlooks the Blue Ridge Mountains. We have 12+ acres planted with 12 different varietals including: Chardonnay, Albariño, Seyval, Vidal Blanc, Traminette, Riesling, Muscat-Ottonel, Chambourcin, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Our personal attention to detail, both in the vineyard and in the winery, has resulted in national award-winning wines, time after time. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our small team to assist with harvest and winery operations.
Responsibilities include:
•  Help manage the vineyard and property
•  Assist with all aspects of harvesting grapes
•  Help with winemaking
•  Farm maintenance project management
•  Assist with supervising the vineyard crew
•  Reports to Owner
The ideal candidate will possess:
•  Vineyard or harvest experience preferred, but not required
•  Winery experience, not required and will train
•  An interest in winemaking and/or vineyard management as a career
•  Positive attitude, self-motivated, and a desire to learn
•  Willingness to work extended hours when needed
•  Ability to work as part of a team or independently
•  Ability to follow instructions and to lead vineyard crew
•  Ability to follow safety standards and procedures
•  Spanish language skills a plus
Physical requirements:
•  Ability to stand for extended periods of time
•  Ability to life and carry 50 pounds
•  Ability to climb stairs and step ladders
•  Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions
Compensation based on experience. Possible onsite dwelling at a reduced market rate.
