About the Job: The night shift Med Surg LPN in our hospital provides planned and highly skilled nursing care for the patient. The LPN will assist the physicians and other team members as directed by the supervisor. Nurses care for a variety of patients in the hospital and ICU. HMC has a robust Surgery department and our hospital nurses care many of the med surg patients. The shift is 6pm to 6:30 am with a shift differential of $3 for nights and $4 for weekends, with rotating weekends and holidays. Responsibilities: Assess and document patient status. Carry out treatments and/or orders. Assist in positioning and/or transporting the patient. Record treatment, comments and notes as necessary on the appropriate patient chart, alerting other personnel to all orders, problems, and other pertinent information. Administer medication, IV therapy and drips as ordered. A current CPR/AED card (or willing to obtain upon hire) is required. ICU experience is preferred, but not required. Must be willing to work overnight, 6pm to 6:30 am.
