Japanese Logistics company is seeking HR Manager in Plano TX or Long Beach, CA!
Well-established third-party logistics provider (3PL), founded in 1986 and a group company to a major Japanese trading company which was founded in 1858.
About the position
We are a relatively flat lined organization, and the Director of HR & Administration will need to wear multiple hats. In addition to human resources and administration functions, this position will also need to have legal and compliance experience. Ideally, the successful candidate will have 5 – 10 years' experience in the logistics industry, preferably working in the asset/non-asset side of domestic transportation. The candidate will need to be a "hands on" type of director and play a key role in communicating with senior management in strategic decision making and operations of the company.
Responsibilities—
Responsible for all HR functions, such as the recruiting process – assist in the creation of job descriptions and coordinating interviews with candidates (via recruiter(s)) and the proper company employees; employee training; assist in coaching and counseling; handling sensitive internal HR issues, including terminating employeesUpdate required HR materials (handbooks, policies, and procedures)Review all legal agreementsEnsure the company is in compliance with the Parent Company's compliance programs and appropriate trainingParticipate in the risk management review and coordinate the resolution of issues with the parent company's insurance dept. and the insurance brokerParticipate in insurance claims activity, including reporting to senior management and creating policies and proceduresQualifications-
At least 5 years of experience in all areas stated aboveSuccessful track record in setting priorities, keen analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision makingExcellent communication skills with the ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external individualsA multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats in a fast-paced environmentJapanese speaking preferred but not required
