Human Resources Generalist
Mayville, WIMEC is looking for a Human Resources Generalist for our Mayville location! The Human Resources Generalist will support the day-to-day HR operations and the values of MEC.
Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Generalist will have responsibility in the following areas: recruiting/selection, employee relations, employee engagement, and compliance. The HR Generalist at MEC is a strong partner that believes in serving the operations team and providing proactive HR support.
ResponsibilitiesA role like this comes with some important responsibilities, some of those responsibilities include: Provides day-to-day support and coaching to department managers and supervisors with regards to employee relations matters.Identifies and coordinates training and development opportunities for employees to create a highly skilled and flexible workforce.Recommends company policy and procedure changes based on workforce needs and implements changes in respective departments.Provides insight into respective departments' team dynamics and advises managers and supervisors ways to increase employee engagement.Partners with departments to identify staffing needs based on capacity planning of the business.Executes full cycle recruitment of hourly production positions including sourcing, screening, coordinating interviews, extending offers.Assists managers and supervisors in making high quality hiring decisions based on job qualifications and according to MEC's mission and vision.Onboards new employees ensuring timely and accurate completion of required paperwork and pre-employment testing.Assimilates new employees to MEC and the department team by conducting orientations.Builds relationships with high schools, technical colleges and/or universities to ensure a long term strategic pipeline of talent.Ensures employees are receiving necessary feedback to maximize department performance through the administration of 60 day, 6 month and annual reviews. Provides coaching to managers and supervisors on effective forms of feedback.Recommends salary changes based on market data, employee performance and experience. Ensures compensation is aligned with external market and internal equity.Maintains HRIS with accurate data.Understands the current state of recruitment and retention through metrics and analytics. Provides insight and recommendations to operations based on trends.Coordinates employee rewards, recognition and appreciation events and activities.Serves as a back up switchboard operator on a rotational basis.QualificationsWhat Does It Take to Be a Fit for This Role? Bachelor's degree in Human Resources.3-5 years of experience in Human Resources, experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.High attention to detail.Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.MEC Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer dedicated to fostering an environment of mutual respect and integrity.
