Job Description
The I&E Lead is the designated position with the overall responsibility to ensure successful project delivery.
The ideal candidate would be proven in safety leadership, adherence to the design documents, simplify/reduce mindset and deliver to meet all required outcomes.
Role functions in most phases in varying participation to ensure the quality of IFC documents while delivering with little need to consult engineering.
Role supports the Capital Projects team reporting to the Supervisor/Superintendent and is directly responsible for managing the Contractor s execution of Site work activities.
This is a field-based role with up to 90% of time spent in the field.
The position does not currently have an end date and should have a willingness to learn and grow within the GCR Capital Projects Team.
The I&E Project Lead will oversee Site electrical, instrumentation and help with controls installations.
The Lead will be the Site Project point of contact for operations, engineering, contractors, fabricators, and vendors for electrical, instrumentation and controls construction activities.
The Lead will be responsible for the project personnel and technical oversight for safe execution of projects in accordance with the purchase orders and contracts.
Knowledge of Industry and Company Standards and Specifications is required.
Responsibilities include:
Leading crews by example to zero incidents, done-right the first time every time
Skilled at understanding quality of engineering deliverables and able to handover to operations projects as designed
Develops a no-late change mind-set to stay within planned IFC designs
Skilled in applications of Company and Industry Standards & Specifications
Ability to create respectful and progressive Sites - listens, forms a plan and follows through on commitments while holding others accountable
Excellent communication and teamwork with good computer skills
Creates a learning team that looks to reduces and simplifies within guidelines
Ensure fully integrated project scope definition in readiness reviews
Participates in P&ID, Model, constructability, programming, C&E and drawing reviews and make recommendations to ensure efficient Construction
Manages & approves pre-commissioning activities, Loop, function and C&E checks
Coordination of efficient instrumentation and controls installations
Leads site quality assurance/quality control programs and aligns time changes
Responsible for Function Check Out, Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning and PSSR s prior to startup of new facilities
Tracks costs and schedule daily, forms safe ways to stay on-track
Generates a weekly report on progress percent complete with look ahead
Capability to effectively manage multiple projects sites and through others
Participates in process hazard analysis (PHA) and safeguard evaluation
Leads Site approvals and closure of PSSR and ready-for-start-up
Manages contractor personnel in HSE risk management proactive programs
Ensures quality of engineering documents at handover and are built per the engineering WorkPacks
Assists with factory acceptance testing and Lead field inspections, when required
Participates in After Action Reviews / Learning Teams
Basic/Required:
5+ years of instrumentation and electrical experience within the Oil and Gas industry
5+ years leading I&E Construction Site work onshore/offshore
Journeyman electrical licenses
Sites require the ability and willingness to perform the following without limitations:
o Climb various ladders and stairs up to 50 feet in height
o Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
o Work outside in temperature extremes or adverse weather conditions
Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel 10% of the time on a yearly basis
Current/valid driver's license
Legally authorized to work in the United States
Preferred:
10+ years of Oil and Gas Instrumentation and Electrical
5+ years of Electrical hands-on experience
Technical knowledge/trained in troubleshooting instrument and electrical equipment
Master electrical License in North Dakota
2+ year Instrumentation/Electrical degree
Skilled in influence site contractors without direct authority able to form improvement plan for contractor
Generates effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
Continuously improves the process and looks for ways to simplify/reduce
Has a preference working in a fast-track and dynamic environment.
Education: 2+ year Instrumentation/Electrical degree preferred; HS Diploma/GED Required
Work Schedule: 6-60 Schedule (10 Hr Days) - 6 days on / 1 days off
Pay Range:
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00 per hour; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
Additional Comp:
Per diem: $55/day meals & incidentals
Lodging: $96/day
