Industrial Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee facility maintenance and repairs with an emphasis on preventive and predictive maintenance of processing equipment, building and grounds, HVAC, and all related utilities. This position will be involved with maintenance planning and scheduling activities at the Plant, as well as organizing and overseeing the schedules and work of Maintenance staff. This position will work 6:00pm-6:00am with a rotating schedule (3 days on, 2 days off) with every third weekend off. 
\n Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited toDirect oversite of Maintenance teamDevelop and follow up on overall production performance and quality standardsParticipate in daily update meetings, analyze and report on downtime or other issuesOversee department planning and coordination of workload based on production schedule and adapt to changing circumstances as neededAssist Maintenance Manager in leading implementation of maintenance processes driven through reliability programs and strategiesActs as plant buyer for all MRO parts and Facility Maintenance ServicesDevelop work plans with cost and time estimates, specification, drawings, schematics, tools, materials, parts, craft skills required so the scope of work can be accomplishedMaintains an open package of schedulable work orders which require equipment to be shut down so that some or all of them can be performed in the event of an unscheduled shutdown of that equipment; these unscheduled shutdown lists are prepared, reviewed and updated weekly.Develops a file of standard work orders (plans) for regularly recurring repair jobs, based on historical experience, to simplify the planning processEvaluate and recommends improvements in methods, equipment, procedures, etc.Drive results – including production volume and reliability, labor management, workflow, and materials loss reductionOversee compliance with GMP, Food Safety & Quality SOPs, and HACCP guidelines. Do quality checks and confer with Quality on food quality issuesUnderstand and model personal safety policies, reporting any safety hazards, and actively prevent/eliminate hazards that can cause injury or illnessCoordinate maintenance activities with the Kitchen, Warehouse, and Quality AssuranceWork with Sanitation to ensure rooms are ready for productionWork closely with all departments to troubleshoot issues and communicate needsWork with HR regarding hiring, employee relations, and termination needsMonitor onboarding of new employees and performance-based training or cross-training activitiesCommunicate clear performance expectations and provide performance coachingMonitor/guide supervisory completion of time cards, performance reviews, and dealing with employee issuesLead/participate in continuous improvement effortsFoster a spirit of cooperation and respect within team and with other departments Required Skills and ExperienceBachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and education in Industrial Maintenance Management, Engineering, Operations, or applicable technical knowledge or Degree/Certification from a Trade SchoolHACCP knowledge or certification 5-7 years' experience managing groups of employees in a production environment3+ years' experience in industrial operations, Plant operations, maintenance, utilities and/or related fieldPrior maintenance planner/buyer experience in a production settingEffective people management in a multi-cultural, multi-generational workforceMaintenance planning skills, process flow understanding, and inventory management experiencePractical problem solving and decision-making skillsSafety management knowledgeStrong, clear communication and coaching skillsExcellent organizational skills and detail orientedAbility to write and present reportsAbility to effectively present information and respond to question from groups of employeesAbility to interact effectively with regulators, vendors, and outside industry groupsIntermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and previous experience using computerized payroll/labor tracking Preferred Skills and ExperiencePrevious experience in food industryKnowledge of and experience working with CMMSBilingual (English/Spanish)LEAN experience Electrical troubleshooting experienceSAP experienceKnowledge and practice of NFPA 70E Physical Requirements Regularly required to use hands to feel, grab, or operate objects, tools, and controls while reaching with hands and armsFrequently required to stand, communicate, and listen. Occasionally required to walk, stoop, kneel or crouch. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Able to perform repetitive movementsAble to work in variable temperatures (cold/hot)
