Integrated Pest Management Scouting Specialist (IPM Scouting Specialist) Our Integrated Pest Management Scouting Specialist will mainly be responsible for following MCP's policies and procedures for our daily cultivation operations and fully comply with state medical and adult use marijuana regulations.
Your role in caring for our company: The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Daily monitoring and scouting of pest and disease in all grow rooms including greenhouse. Provide early detection and identification of pests and diseases. Track plant growth through measurements and plant metrics.? Maintain insect traps in designated areas of the grow and do weekly trap counts of insects. Proper management and distribution of bios (live insects or mites) according to instructions from the Cultivation Department Head. Follow IPM protocols of pest and disease management. Compiling IPM and conventional reports for management review. Verification of pest and disease infestation trend. Spray preparation and application of crops.? Variety recording and verification of data. Ensure cleanliness, adherence to all food safety policies and procedures and organization within the greenhouse. Work successfully alongside department team members. Maintain proper use of Personal Protective Equipment. All other duties as necessary. Qualifications we ask you to have: For legal reasons, all employees need to be at least 21 years of age. You will be asked to pass a Federal and State criminal history background check. We ask that you have at least a high school diploma/GED. Addition skills which will help you excel in your role: Knowledge or willingness to learn American Sign Language Willing and able to work in 85+ degree temperatures with up to 80% humidity levels. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to foster collaboration and team environment. Comply with all HR policies including confidentiality and non-disclosure. Ability to maintain open communication with the management team and other co-workers. Strong work ethics - be accountable and proactive. Ability to maintain strong attention to detail throughout entire shift. We ask that you do not have allergies to plant materials or nitrile gloves; job requires daily exposure to cannabis plants and nitrile gloves. Ability to follow specific protocols and strictly adhere to Standard Operating Procedures. Work Schedule/Location: On-site 5 days a week. This position requires an inordinate amount of sitting, walking, kneeling, bending, scooping, twisting and reaching in full range of motion to complete physical tasks. Must be capable of sitting for extended periods of time, lift objects on a regular basis, and perform daily repetitive tasks. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted and up to 80lbs assisted. As this is a cannabis growing facility, there will be strong odors, bright lights, and various noises throughout the workday. Employees are asked to wear scrubs, masks, gloves, and hairnets while working with the plants. DCM will provide scrubs, gloves, and hair nets to all employees.
