We are seeking a senior specialist to join our team to develop and negotiate agreements to connect new projects to LCRA Transmission Services Corporation's electric transmission system. You will support projects with electric utilities and governmental entities. This is an outstanding opportunity within the transmission engineering team to apply your knowledge of the electric transmission business while being on the forefront of projects to reliably serve Texans! You will be trusted to:
- Develop and negotiate interconnection agreements, tariffed electric service agreements, and other electric utility agreements.
- Collaborate with design engineers, system planners, project managers, and legal staff to define agreements during project scope definition in alignment with LCRA TSC's requirements and standards.
- Lead project and ad hoc teams to solve complex issues related to interconnection agreements.
- Support interconnection requests and projects modifying existing facilities from initiation through the facilities design process.
- Build strong and effective working relationships with transmission customers to define project responsibilities and ownership during scoping.
- Develop technical exhibits for agreements such as one-lines, diagrams, and maps.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to interconnection procedures and standards.
You qualify with:
- Nine or more years of experience in engineering, project management, transmission planning, or substation/power facilities design or other relevant experience, including experience interpreting ERCOT protocols, NERC standards, and PUC regulations regarding electric power generation and/or transmission. A degree(s) in engineering, project management, business or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
