The Division of Disease Control and Public Health Response (DCPHR) exists to ensure that the Department has the ability to effectively monitor, detect, diagnose, prepare for, and nimbly respond to, all types of conditions and events that impact the public's health. The division includes the Office of Emergency Preparedness and Response; State Public Health Laboratory; Health Equity Branch, Communicable Disease Branch; Immunization Branch; Public Health Informatics, Reporting, Technology Branch; Refugee Branch; and Operations Branch. The Division exists to ensure that the Department has the ability to effectively prepare for, monitor, detect, diagnose, investigate, and nimbly respond to all types of conditions, events and disasters that impact the public's health.

 

  The Unit:  
The operations branch within the Colorado State Lab exists to manage building operations, warehouse, supplies, logistics and courier dispatch. The operations branch is also a liaison between the Laboratory programs and external stakeholders. The State Lab is responsible for providing public health laboratory testing services for the state of Colorado. The unit receives and distributes test kits and related supplies to local public health agencies and medical laboratories. What you will be doing:
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring physical inventory at the State Lab is documented correctly in CORE, and works with the CDPHE internal auditing to resolve discrepancies. This positon ensures that the warehouse staff codes CORE documents to the correct departments and are using the proper funding. This position is also responsible for Lab IT purchases and fixed asset documentation. Inventory Control  This position is responsible for ensuring physical lab inventory matches the inventory counts in the Department's financial system, CORE. Responsible for developing and implementing thresholds for and procedures for re-ordering inventory items. Analyzing data to set re-ordering points for inventory and liaising with program staff to ensure that procedures meet stakeholder needs.  Responsible for reviewing OC documents in CORE before they are submitted by the warehouse team. Fixed Assets and Computer Assets  This position is responsible for managing all Department asset tags assigned to fixed assets at the State Public Health Laboratory. Ensures all assets at the lab have current asset tags. Works with CDPHE fiscal to ensure all lab assets are tracked correctly.  This position documents all assets that are being disposed of, per the appropriate Department and State protocols and relays pertinent information to any funders which should be alerted of an assets' disposition. Works with lab programs to keep track of room numbers, serial numbers and other important information for each of the lab's assets. Residency Requirement:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Option 1:  
Seven (7) years of professional experience* in warehouse and/or logistics management, managing inventories and supply chains, or an occupational field closely related to the work assigned to the position. OR: Option 2:
Bachelor's degree** from an accredited institution in business, logistics, accounting, supply chain management or a field of study closely related to the work assignment.
AND
Three (3) years of professional experience* in warehouse and/or logistics management, managing inventories and supply chains, or an occupational field closely related to the work assigned to the position. OR: Option 3:
Master's degree** from an accredited institution in business, accounting, logistics, supply chain management or a field of study closely related to the work assignment.  
AND
One (1) year of professional experience* in warehouse and/or logistics management, managing inventories and supply chains, or an occupational field closely related to the work assigned to the position. *This experience must be substantiated within the Work Experience section of your application. Relevant years of State service Supervisory Experience 10 or more years of professional experience Experience in accounting or bookkeeping  Experience implementing and managing an inventory system Experience managing inventory control and performing analysis of inventory Experience managing incoming/outgoing products and addressing discrepancies with inventory and deliveries Experience with large volume distribution management Self-motivated and self-directed Strong verbal and written communications kills Strong planning and organizational skills Strong attention to detail, with a high degree of accuracy and precision Ability to meet deadlines with limited supervision CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Must be willing to:  Pre-employment background check Travel with the warehouse team other warehouse locations Be on-site Be expected to work and/or remain at their worksite in delayed start, early release, or closure situations. Be available in the event of an emergency, (e.g., bio-terrorist attack, chemical attack, disease outbreak or all hazards) and be required to report to work immediately at the regular or alternate location. During this time, travel restrictions may be in place. Be available in the event of the activation of the Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) and be required to report to work immediately at the regular or alternate location. During this time, travel restrictions may be in place.
