About Our Client My client is a Private Single-Family Office with a strong (30+ year) pedigree and impressive track record. They have around $10b in AUM. In addition to multiple offices in Europe, they opened their Boston office more recently. Stateside, they have a startup environment but are part of a much wider network of backing and resources. The firm's ambitious growth plans in the coming years and as part of their longer-term strategy, the need for an Investment Director has arisen.
Job Description The Investment Director will lead the investment team and report into the family member. The Investment Director's primary responsibility will be to oversee the firm's investment portfolio in the US, with a focus on the TMT and healthcare tech space, along with occasional opportunistic investments across other sectors. The role will include overseeing a small team of analysts and associates who focus on due diligence, analysis, and sourcing of new investment opportunities. There is a single source of capital with zero external fund raising.
Main duties and responsibilities will include the following:
Oversee the preparation of financial models (LBO etc.) across industries and sectors to support mandate processesManage and evaluate the current investment portfolio while building a longer-term strategy for further expansion into the United StatesManage an investment team of associates and analystsDrive the analysis of financial data to build financial models and review direct equity investmentsMake informed and highly commercial strategy decisionsInvestment execution (term sheets, due diligence, transaction documents)Portfolio monitoring (board meetings, quarterly letters)Recommend future investmentsDeliver quarterly sector research reports for external distributionThe Successful Applicant In return for a competitive remuneration package, you will possess the following:
Bachelor's Degree15+ years of relevant experienceA strong track record in the TMT (Technology, Media, Telecoms) and/or healthcare tech spacesStrong private LBO experienceUnderstanding of complex financial modelingAbility to roll up one's sleeves and get involved at the grassroots levelAbility to be based in Boston, MA.What's on Offer $350,000 to $400,000 base salaryPerformance-related annual bonus scheme (up to 75%)Opportunity for co-investmentCompetitive benefitsOpportunity to be part of the inner workings of a well-established private family officeBoston, MA locationPlease note that equity/carry is not available for this opportunity.
